Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), is set to chair the 40th extraordinary session of the Union’s Executive Committee in Cairo on Monday and Tuesday.
According to a statement released by the People’s National Assembly, the session will address the urgent item presented by the Arab Parliamentary Group at the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This item is scheduled to be raised next April in Istanbul.
Furthermore, the meeting is expected to determine the location and timing of both the 41st session of the Executive Committee and the 39th Conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Mr. Boughali will be accompanied by parliamentarians Abdallah Alaoui and Deradji Chadi during the Cairo meetings.
The AIPU serves as a platform for parliamentary cooperation and coordination among Arab countries, addressing key regional and international issues. This upcoming session underscores the Union’s commitment to proactive engagement on matters of critical importance to the Arab world. The discussions are expected to be robust and contribute significantly to shaping the AIPU’s agenda for the coming year.
The Algerian delegation’s participation highlights the country’s active role in regional parliamentary diplomacy and its commitment to strengthening Arab cooperation across various sectors. The outcomes of the Executive Committee meeting are keenly anticipated, as they will likely influence the direction of parliamentary efforts within the Arab League framework.
