The Algerian national football team is set to commence its preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco starting December 21st. The Fennecs will begin their training camp next Monday at the Technical Center of Sidi Moussa. The team will then depart for Morocco on a special flight next Friday.
Upon arrival at Sidi Moussa, the technical staff will assess the players’ physical condition. Individualized training programs will be implemented for some players to compensate for a lack of competitive playing time, given the recent suspension of various leagues where they participate. The primary objective is to standardize the physical fitness levels of all players before transitioning to tactical training.
National coach Vladimir Petković has emphasized that AFCON preparation will begin from the very first day of the camp. A significant focus will be placed on the match against Sudan, scheduled for December 24th. Preparations for this game will commence immediately upon the team’s arrival in Morocco next Friday.
The preparation period will also include video sessions dedicated to analyzing the national team’s opponents in the group stage. These sessions will aim to identify their playing styles, strengths, and weaknesses.
In Morocco, the national team’s morning training sessions will commence at 11:00 AM. The opening match against Sudan is scheduled for December 24th at 4:00 PM.
