Jordanian authorities have successfully dismantled a regional drug trafficking ring in recent days, according to a statement released by the Public Security Directorate. The operation, led by the Anti-Narcotics Department, resulted in the arrest of all individuals involved in the criminal network.
Law enforcement officials identified and apprehended the suspects while they were traveling in their vehicle. Simultaneously, a raid was conducted on a location in the southern part of the Kingdom, leading to the arrest of two additional individuals. During the raid, authorities seized 270 slabs of hashish and an automatic firearm.
In addition to dismantling the trafficking ring, security forces apprehended 22 drug dealers and promoters across the country. Among those arrested were two individuals classified as ‘dangerous,’ including a prominent dealer operating in the Ramtha region, located in the northernmost part of Jordan.
Further operations in Ruwaished, near the Jordanian-Iraqi border, led to the arrest of another individual deemed ‘dangerous,’ who was found in possession of 8,000 narcotic pills. In Madaba, a city in central Jordan, five individuals were apprehended for selling cocaine, with authorities seizing one kilogram of the drug.
In the capital city of Amman, raids targeting drug dealers resulted in the seizure of 12 slabs of hashish in the southern part of the city, 14,000 narcotic pills in the east, and 24 slabs of hashish in the north. These operations underscore the ongoing efforts of Jordanian authorities to combat drug trafficking and maintain public safety. The Public Security Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing and prosecuting individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
