Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that a great defeat awaits the Israeli army. He further emphasized that the condition for the release of prisoners is the full liberation of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
In a televised address, Abu Obeida insisted that the era of the “invincible” Israeli army has come to an end. He said the current conflict will be a defining moment in the history of the nation. “The massacres and the genocide committed by the Israeli army against civilians in Gaza only reveal their profound suffering and a pervasive sense of defeat,” he elaborated.
After 22 days of the “Al-Aqsa Storm” battle, Abu Obeida declared that they are still waiting for the Israeli army. “We will introduce new forms of death to the enemy, and we will show them and the world what heroism and sacrifice mean. We will inflict upon them a greater defeat than they could ever expect or fear,” he stated.
Regarding the prisoner issue, Abu Obeida said that numerous discussions had been conducted on this matter. “The enemy has delayed and has shown no real seriousness to end the suffering of their prisoners, killing around 50 of them in their strikes on Gaza,” he noted. He clarified that if Israel wants to resolve this issue once and for all, the condition is clear: the full liberation of all Palestinian prisoners.
Abu Obeida gave an account of the military tactics they’ve employed. “We have witnessed divine victory as we invaded the enemy’s fortifications, which crumbled before us like a spider’s web. One of our fighters destroyed three enemy vehicles and killed their occupants as they fled before him like they were running from an army,” he remarked.
He indicated that special units were deployed to Zekeim a few days ago to instill terror into the Israeli forces prepared for the Gaza invasion. “The enemy falsely claimed that they killed 10 fighters while in reality, the unit only consisted of three,” he added.
Abu Obeida also highlighted that the myths surrounding the invincible Israeli army, their superior Merkava tanks, and intelligence have all been shattered. “The era of Zionist defeat has begun, and the curse of the eighth decade will fall upon them. Let them return to their Torah and Talmud to understand this well,” he warned.
Addressing Arab leaders, he said, “We don’t ask you to move your armies and tanks to defend Arab and Muslim children, their sanctities, and their holy places. We have taken upon ourselves the responsibility to sweep this occupation.”
He called upon the honorable and free people of the nation to rise in defense of their sanctities and their Al-Aqsa. “We are fully convinced that if the free people of this nation rise, even if it’s just one man on the field, this enemy will not be able to withstand or stand against this roaring tide,” he concluded.
