Algiers – Algerian law enforcement agencies have successfully dismantled 32 criminal networks specializing in online fraud, DZWatch has learned. This operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against cybercrime across the country.
The coordinated effort targeted various forms of internet scams, including phishing schemes, investment fraud, and the distribution of malware designed to steal personal and financial information. Authorities have not yet released details on the number of individuals arrested or the total value of assets seized during the operation.
This announcement follows a series of government initiatives aimed at bolstering cybersecurity and protecting citizens from online threats. The rise of e-commerce and digital services in Algeria has unfortunately been accompanied by a corresponding increase in fraudulent activities, prompting a renewed focus on preventative measures and law enforcement capabilities.
