Ouargla, Algeria – A significant security operation conducted by the National Gendarmerie in the Sidi Khouiled municipality of Ouargla province has resulted in the seizure of a cache of weapons and sensitive equipment.
Acting on precise intelligence, the regional group of the National Gendarmerie in Ouargla targeted a farm suspected of harboring illicit materials. The Sidi Khouiled territorial brigade received information indicating the presence of weapons and suspicious equipment within a farm containing two houses.
Following the necessary legal procedures, a specialized patrol was formed to raid the farm. The operation led to the discovery of an automatic pistol with its magazine, two traditional pistols, a hunting rifle equipped with a scope, and a drone complete with all its accessories. Wireless communication devices were also confiscated.
The seized items included a substantial quantity of cartridges, gunpowder, and ammunition capsules, along with 2,547 surveillance devices of various types and 2,160 boxes of foreign-made incense.
One individual residing in one of the houses was apprehended during the operation. A second suspect remains at large.
A thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway by the Sidi Khouiled territorial brigade of the National Gendarmerie. The arrested individual will be presented before the competent judicial authorities upon completion of the established legal procedures.
