FIFA Introduces New Ticket Category for 2026 World Cup

FIFA has announced the creation of a new ticket category for the 2026 World Cup, specifically aimed at fans of participating national teams. This initiative is designed to support supporters and make it easier for them to attend matches featuring their national teams during the tournament, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11th to July 19th, 2026.

The new fan ticket category will be available at a fixed price of $60 USD per ticket and will be applicable to all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final. This decision comes amidst record-breaking demand for tickets.

These tickets will be exclusively allocated to fans of qualified national teams. Participating national federations will be responsible for independently managing the selection and distribution process. Each federation will establish its own eligibility criteria and application procedures, ensuring that tickets reach the most dedicated and supportive fans.

FIFA has clarified that 50 percent of the fan support program will fall into the least expensive categories, divided between the Value Support category (40 percent) and the Basic Support category (10 percent). The remaining portion will be equally divided between the Standard Support and Premium Support categories.

Furthermore, FIFA has waived administrative fees for fans who applied through the PMA allocation but whose national teams did not qualify for the knockout stages, when processing refunds for unsuccessful applications.

This decision is a direct response to the unprecedented global demand for tickets to the 2026 World Cup. Over 20 million ticket requests were registered during the current sales phase using a random draw system, which began on December 11th, 2025. Interest has remained high following the official announcement of the match schedule, stadiums, and kickoff times.
