DZWatch has received reports of ongoing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms expected to persist across several inland provinces and northern Saharan regions until Friday. The national weather service has issued a special advisory, highlighting the potential for significant precipitation.
The advisory indicates that the provinces of Tamanrasset and Ain Salah will experience thunderstorms with rainfall amounts potentially reaching up to 30 mm until 3:00 PM today. Citizens in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
Furthermore, a heightened warning is in effect for the provinces of El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Ghardaia, and El Menia, where thunderstorms and rainfall exceeding 70 mm are anticipated to continue until 6:00 AM on Friday. Similarly, the provinces of Tiaret, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, and Naama are expected to receive thunderstorms with rainfall amounts reaching up to 40 mm until 3:00 AM on Friday. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the roads.
Finally, provinces including Illizi, Ouargla, Touggourt, El Oued, El M’Ghair, Ouled Djellal, Biskra, Batna, and Khenchela should brace for rainfall exceeding 50 mm until 9:00 AM on Friday.
