Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie condemns the situation in Gaza, drawing attention to the plight of trapped civilians and the international community’s role.

In a heartfelt post on her official Instagram account, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie condemned the deliberate targeting of trapped civilians in Gaza, stating, “There is no place for them to flee.”

Sharing a poignant image of the destruction caused by Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, Jolie remarked, “Gaza has been an open prison for nearly two decades, quickly turning into a mass grave. 40% of the casualties are innocent children, with entire families being wiped out.”

She continued, “As the world watches, with active support from many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians – children, women, and families – are subjected to collective punishment and stripped of their humanity. They are deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, in violation of international law. By refusing to call for a ceasefire on humanitarian grounds and preventing the UN Security Council from imposing a ceasefire on both parties, world leaders are complicit in these crimes.”

The post garnered significant attention, receiving over 2 million likes. Prominent figures from the Arab world, including Lebanese presenter Joelle Mardinian, commented, thanking Jolie for shedding light on the situation, saying, “Thank you for speaking the truth about this massacre in Palestine.”

Jolie also shared information about the Jabalia refugee camp, the largest in the Gaza Strip among eight camps, as per the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). As the Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie highlighted, “After the 1948 war, several Palestinian refugees settled in the camp after being displaced from villages in southern Palestine. The camp spans 1.4 square kilometers and houses 116,011 registered Palestinian refugees.”
