President Tebboune Visits Ministry of Defence Exhibition

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today visited the Ministry of National Defence pavilion at the Algiers Exhibition Palace. The President’s visit highlights the government’s commitment to supporting and promoting the national defence industry.

President Tebboune received detailed briefings on the latest advancements in military industries, with a particular focus on the production of combat vehicles, weapons systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). He expressed keen interest in the technological progress and the capabilities of these domestically produced assets.

The President also toured the pavilion of the Mechanical Constructions Establishment of Khenchela, a key player in the manufacturing of light weaponry. He examined the latest products, including the semi-automatic pump-action rifle, a flagship product of the national military industry. President Tebboune commended the efforts made in developing and producing high-quality firearms.

Furthermore, President Tebboune stopped at the pavilion of the Central Supply Base of the First Military Region. He was briefed on the battery production line and the latest technologies in the field of energy. He also received explanations about the refrigeration units, the production of which is experiencing significant development to meet the requirements of army units and achieve self-sufficiency.

This visit underscores the Algerian government’s focus on bolstering its domestic defence capabilities and achieving greater self-reliance in meeting the needs of its armed forces. The emphasis on local production aims to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers and create employment opportunities within the country.
