Cairo, December 18, 2025 – Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and Minister of African Affairs, arrived in Cairo this evening. He is scheduled to participate in the Second Ministerial Meeting of the African-Russian Partnership Forum, slated for December 19th and 20th.
Minister Attaf’s participation, undertaken on behalf of the President, will focus primarily on evaluating the outcomes of the Joint Action Plan for 2023-2026, according to a statement released by the Ministry. The meeting will also involve discussions regarding preparations for the Third African-Russian Summit, planned for next year. This summit aims to further invigorate the partnership between Africa and Russia.
The Ministerial Meeting provides a crucial platform for assessing the progress made in various sectors under the existing action plan. These sectors include but are not limited to trade, investment, security, and technological cooperation. The discussions will identify areas of success and address any challenges encountered during the implementation phase.
The upcoming African-Russian Summit is expected to build upon the momentum generated by previous engagements and to outline a strategic vision for future collaboration. Key objectives include strengthening economic ties, promoting peace and security on the African continent, and fostering cooperation in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
