A detachment from the Russian Navy arrived in the port of Algiers on Thursday for a four-day official visit. The naval group consists of the Krasnodar submarine and the Altay sea rescue tug.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the Russian mission commander and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to the commander of the Central Maritime Front at the naval base in Algiers, which is part of the First Military Region.
This visit presents an opportunity to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries and strengthen the exchange of expertise and professional experience between the Algerian and Russian naval forces.
As part of the program, reciprocal visits will be organized between officers of the Algerian naval forces and members of the Russian detachment’s crew, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experience gained in the maritime field.
The program also includes cultural and tourist activities for the Russian crew members, aimed at consolidating the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two navies.
This visit underscores the ongoing military cooperation program between Algeria and Russia, highlighting the commitment of both nations to strengthening their strategic partnership.
