Cairo, Egypt – Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdel-Aty, today at Tahrir Palace in Cairo. The meeting took place during Minister Attaf’s official visit to Egypt, where he is participating in the second Ministerial Session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum.
The ministers reviewed the outcomes of the 9th session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee, which convened in Cairo on November 26th. Both ministers lauded the quality of the results achieved, underscoring the significant importance that the leaders of both countries, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, attach to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, cooperation, and partnership between Algeria and Egypt.
Regional and international issues were also high on the agenda. The meeting provided an opportunity for the ministers to exchange views on a number of issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Gaza and the Palestinian cause, the crises in Sudan and Libya, and recent developments in the security and political landscape of the Sahel region.
The discussions reflect a shared commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional challenges through collaborative efforts.
