The Algerian national football team departed Algiers on Friday evening, en route to Rabat, Morocco, to begin preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 tournament.
A full complement of players and staff, led by Algerian Football Federation (FAF) President Walid Sadi, arrived at Houari Boumediene Airport earlier in the day. The team’s chartered flight departed at approximately 4:00 PM local time and is expected to arrive in the Moroccan capital around 5:30 PM.
Les Fennecs will immediately commence training, with five sessions planned in the lead-up to their opening match of the first round. Algeria is scheduled to face Sudan on December 24th.
During the initial phase of the tournament, the national team will be based in Rabat. Should they advance as group winners, their Round of 16 match will also be played in the same city.
The team’s early departure underscores the commitment to a thorough and well-planned preparation period. The FAF is providing the team with all the necessary resources to compete at their highest level. The coaching staff are confident that the players will be ready for the challenges ahead.
