Cairo, December 19, 2025 – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, and Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amon Murwira, have affirmed the convergence of their countries’ positions on a range of critical global issues. The ministers met today in Cairo on the sidelines of the second Russia-Africa Partnership Forum at the ministerial level.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the implementation of outcomes from the Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s state visit to Algeria in July. That visit included extensive talks between President Mnangagwa and his Algerian counterpart, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
During their discussions, Ministers Attaf and Murwira exchanged perspectives on various regional issues of mutual concern. Notably, they underscored the alignment and congruence of their nations’ stances whenever it concerns championing just causes, particularly the Palestinian and Western Saharan issues.
Both ministers reiterated their commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations and collaboration on the international stage. The discussions highlighted the shared vision of Algeria and Zimbabwe in promoting peace, stability, and development within the African continent and beyond. Further cooperation is expected in various sectors following up on the agreements made during President Mnangagwa’s visit.
This meeting reinforces the strong diplomatic ties between Algeria and Zimbabwe and underscores their dedication to working together to address common challenges and advance shared interests on the global stage.
