Algiers, December 20, 2025 – The second phase of the national polio vaccination campaign is set to begin tomorrow, continuing until December 27th. This initiative falls under the national health prevention strategy aimed at safeguarding children’s health and ensuring their protection against this debilitating disease.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Health, this campaign aligns with Algeria’s commitments to public health and its established vaccination programs. The program targets all children aged between two months and five years, irrespective of whether they received the vaccine during the first phase.
The Ministry has mobilized over 7,000 vaccination centers across the country. These centers are supported by mobile medical teams dedicated to reaching remote and isolated areas, ensuring comprehensive and effective coverage for all targeted children.
“We are committed to eradicating polio and ensuring a healthy future for all Algerian children,” stated a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry urges all parents to bring their children to designated healthcare facilities for vaccination. This action is crucial for protecting children’s health, strengthening collective immunity, and safeguarding the community from the threat of polio.
This nationwide effort underscores Algeria’s dedication to public health and its proactive approach to preventing the spread of infectious diseases. The success of this campaign relies heavily on the cooperation of parents and the dedication of healthcare professionals across the country.
