Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Attaf participated in the second Ministerial Session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum held in Cairo on Saturday. Minister Attaf attended the forum on behalf of the President of the Republic.
During the forum, the Minister engaged in a series of bilateral meetings and discussions with counterparts from various African nations. These discussions focused on strengthening joint cooperation and exchanging perspectives on regional and international issues of mutual interest, with the aim of supporting African coordination and enhancing strategic partnerships.
Attaf’s presence in Cairo underscores Algeria’s commitment to fostering strong ties with both African nations and Russia. The two-day ministerial meeting, held on December 19th and 20th, 2025, serves as a platform to evaluate the progress of the partnership between the African continent and Russia, and to explore future avenues for collaboration.
The forum’s agenda will primarily concentrate on assessing the implementation of the joint action plan for the period of 2023-2026. Furthermore, discussions will revolve around preparations for the upcoming third African-Russian Summit, scheduled to take place next year. The goal is to inject further momentum into the African-Russian partnership and bolster cooperation across diverse sectors, including political, economic, and developmental domains.
