Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held discussions with Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, this evening. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the second session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum at the ministerial level.
During the talks, the ministers reviewed the strong bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania. They also exchanged perspectives on the latest developments in the Sahel region, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral coordination and collaboration across various sectors.
Focus on Regional Stability
The discussions underscored a shared commitment to addressing the complex challenges facing the Sahel. Both ministers highlighted the necessity of a coordinated approach to promote stability and security in the region, acknowledging the interconnectedness of Algeria and Mauritania’s security interests with the broader Sahelian context.
