Heavy Snowfall Expected Across Several Algerian Interior Provinces

DZWatch Exclusive: Significant snowfall is anticipated across several interior provinces of Algeria, commencing early Monday morning, according to a special weather alert issued by the national meteorological services. The alert warns of deteriorating weather conditions in the affected regions.

The weather service indicates that areas exceeding 1100 meters in altitude within the provinces of Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Tiaret, Naama, El Bayadh, and Laghouat are expected to experience snowfall accumulations ranging from 5 to 10 centimeters. This period of intense snowfall is forecast to begin at 3:00 AM and continue until midday on Monday.

Furthermore, the weather bulletin projects similar snowfall amounts for elevations above 1100 meters in the provinces of Djelfa, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Tizi Ouzou, and Bouira. This phase of the snowfall event is predicted to occur between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Monday.

A separate weather advisory highlights the likelihood of snowfall in the higher terrains of Bejaia, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Batna, and Khenchela provinces. Accumulations are also expected to be in the 5 to 10 centimeter range, with the snowfall period spanning from midday on Monday until 1:00 AM on Tuesday.
