Setif, Algeria – The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications today inaugurated a new union for employees of Algeria Post during a founding conference held in Setif. The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, presided over the ceremony.
Minister Zerrouki emphasized that the establishment of this union is a crucial step in fulfilling the sector’s commitment to promoting social dialogue and strengthening partnerships with labor representatives. He stated that the ministry views the union as a vital partner in fostering a culture of open communication, which is essential for addressing the professional and social concerns of workers.
“This union is a pivotal partner in establishing a culture of dialogue as the best mechanism for addressing the professional and social concerns of workers, improving working conditions, and positively impacting the institution’s performance and the quality of services provided to citizens,” Minister Zerrouki said.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the Governor of Setif, Mustapha Limani; the Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), Amar Tagjout; and the Secretary-General of the National Federation of Postal and Telecommunications Workers, Mohamed Bourouba. The Director-General of Algeria Post, Chiraz Bechiri, along with other sector executives and worker representatives, were also present.
