In a recent meeting with Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, the General Manager of Zehiro, an Italian company specializing in renewable energies, Alessandra Bassini, showcased a project aimed at producing green electricity in Algeria.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy, discussions centered on ways to bolster cooperation and investment in new and renewable energy sectors. This includes solar photovoltaic energy production, electrical interconnection with Italy, and the development of green hydrogen and ammonia.

Minister Arkab provided an overview of Sonelgaz’s program for developing new and renewable energies in Algeria and the national strategy for hydrogen development. He affirmed the sector’s readiness to enhance cooperation on investment policies in renewable energies, offering practical and scientific tools, as well as exchange of expertise, training, and technology transfer.

From her side, Bassini detailed the proposed project for developing renewable energies and producing green electricity in Algeria, utilizing cutting-edge technologies.

Both parties agreed to establish a joint working team to study all aspects of the project presented by Zehiro.
