Algiers – Young Boys defender and Algerian international, Jaouen Hadjam, is reportedly on the verge of joining Turkish giants Beşiktaş following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speculation linking Hadjam to Beşiktaş has been circulating for some time, with reports suggesting club representatives were present in France to scout the player during a Lille match. Internal discussions within the Turkish club reportedly focused on preparing a formal offer.
Recent reports indicate that Beşiktaş has submitted an initial offer for the Algerian international. However, this opening bid, believed to be around five million euros, was swiftly rejected by Young Boys. The Swiss club reportedly considers Hadjam a key player and values him significantly higher.
While Beşiktaş is expected to return with an improved offer, sources suggest a considerable gap remains between the two clubs’ valuations. Young Boys are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of ten million euros, a figure Beşiktaş may be hesitant to meet.
Despite the differing valuations, Turkish media outlets are expressing confidence that a deal will be reached. Some reports even suggest that Hadjam has already agreed personal terms and will travel directly to Turkey from Morocco, where AFCON is being held, to undergo a medical and finalize the transfer. DZWatch will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as they become available.
