Reviving Seized Industrial Units: A Comprehensive Economic Project

Guelma – The revival of industrial units recovered as part of anti-corruption cases represents more than just restarting dormant activities; it constitutes a comprehensive economic project, stated the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, during a visit to Guelma on Thursday.

The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring these units are not simply reopened but are integrated into a broader economic strategy aimed at fostering sustainable growth and creating employment opportunities. “We are not merely restoring production; we are building a robust foundation for future industrial development,” Bachir affirmed.

Bachir highlighted the importance of modernizing these facilities, implementing advanced technologies, and enhancing the skills of the workforce. He mentioned that the government is actively seeking partnerships with both local and international investors to inject capital and expertise into these recovered units.

“Our objective is to transform these units into competitive entities capable of contributing significantly to the national economy,” he added. The Minister also stressed the need for transparency and good governance in the management of these assets to prevent any recurrence of past irregularities.

The Minister’s statements signal a strategic shift towards leveraging recovered assets to drive economic progress and reinforce the fight against corruption by demonstrating tangible benefits for the Algerian people. The project is expected to generate numerous jobs, boost local economies, and enhance the country’s industrial capacity.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to promote diversification of the economy, reducing reliance on hydrocarbons and fostering a more resilient and sustainable economic model. The government is committed to providing the necessary support and resources to ensure the success of this ambitious undertaking.
