ALGIERS – The Algerian labor sector has achieved a significant milestone in its digitization efforts, reaching a rate exceeding 88 percent. Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, announced the achievement on Thursday during the launch of an automated deduction service at the Ben Aknoun family center.
Minister Saihi emphasized that the digitization of the labor sector has already led to the elimination of over 27 administrative documents that citizens were previously required to obtain through physical counters. These documents are now fully accessible through digital systems and computers, streamlining administrative processes.
“Our sector is fully committed to a strategic plan centered around digitization,” Saihi stated. “We cannot speak of an efficient economy without digitization, nor can we build trust without it. A genuine development equation is unattainable without administrative facilitation.”
The Minister further articulated the ultimate goal of achieving 100 percent digitization within the labor, employment, and social security sector. The primary objective, he explained, is to simplify procedures and eliminate the need for physical counters and waiting rooms, which he described as the harshest form of administrative bureaucracy and a psychological burden on citizens.
Saihi also revealed plans to organize periodic consultative meetings aimed at discussing mechanisms to achieve economic development. These meetings will provide a platform for stakeholders to collaborate and identify strategies for fostering sustainable growth in Algeria.
The ongoing digitization initiative represents a major step towards modernizing the Algerian labor sector, enhancing efficiency, and improving the overall experience for citizens and businesses alike. The ministry is confident that reaching the 100% target will bring further benefits and contribute to a more dynamic and competitive economy.
