Qatar, Iran Discuss Regional Issues, Cooperation

DOHA – Qatar and Iran have engaged in discussions concerning regional developments and bilateral cooperation. The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, focusing on strengthening ties and addressing issues of mutual concern.

According to a statement released by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials reviewed the situations in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Territories, and Lebanon. The discussions also explored avenues for bolstering cooperation between Qatar and Iran across various sectors.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to ensure the full implementation of ceasefire agreements in Gaza and Lebanon. He stressed that such implementation is crucial for paving the way towards lasting peace and stability in the region.

During the phone call, both ministers voiced their concerns regarding the situations in Palestine and Lebanon. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in Yemen. Qatar has previously called on all parties in Yemen to engage in close cooperation to avoid escalation and resolve outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means, with the aim of preserving Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.

Doha continues to emphasize the importance of implementing the terms of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and achieving stability in Lebanon. The discussions between the Qatari and Iranian officials underscore the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address complex regional challenges and promote cooperation between the two nations.
