Algiers, Algeria – The Ministry of Trade and the National Agency for Health Security (ANSE) have formalized a partnership aimed at bolstering consumer safety through enhanced collaboration. The agreement was signed yesterday by the Minister of Trade, Amel Abdelatif, and the Head of ANSE, Professor Kamal Sanhadji, during a ceremony held in Algiers.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the core objective of this agreement is to strengthen coordination and joint efforts in the realm of health security. This will be achieved primarily through the exchange of data and information pertaining to consumer health and product safety. The initiative also seeks to improve collaborative practices, with a particular focus on product conformity and safety standards.
A key element of the agreement involves leveraging health alerts as a crucial mechanism for data collection. This will facilitate early warnings and rapid intervention strategies designed to safeguard consumer health effectively. The Ministry emphasized the importance of proactive measures in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Algerian consumer base.
To ensure the effective implementation and oversight of the agreement, a dedicated monitoring committee has been established. This committee will be responsible for evaluating the progress of the agreement’s provisions, studying proposals and projects of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of consumer protection and product safety. The ultimate goal is to achieve the objectives outlined in the agreement and contribute to a safer marketplace for Algerian consumers.
This partnership signifies a commitment from both the Ministry of Trade and ANSE to prioritize consumer safety and well-being through proactive collaboration and information sharing.
