The approaching low-pressure system, accompanied by a cold polar air mass, threatens heavy rainfall and substantial snowfall across several regions.

According to meteorological models, Sunday will see overcast to cloudy skies with scattered showers affecting northern provinces, including areas in the northern Sahara and the oases. The inclement weather is expected to intensify on Monday, spreading across all northern regions, starting from the west and progressing eastward throughout the evening. Rainfall could exceed 50mm overnight Monday and throughout Tuesday, particularly impacting the provinces of Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Chlef, Ain Defla, Tlemcen, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Bouira, Laghouat, and Naama.

Heavy snowfall is anticipated in areas with altitudes ranging between 700 and 1000 meters, including the highlands of Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, Naama, Djelfa, Laghouat, Blida, Bouira, Medea, Jijel, Batna, Setif, and Khenchela. This snowy onslaught is predicted to begin Tuesday evening and persist until Wednesday morning.

Minimum temperatures are forecast to plummet to between -3 and 0 degrees Celsius in inland areas during the night and early morning, while coastal regions will experience lows between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 6 to 15 degrees Celsius in the north and 12 to 25 degrees Celsius in the south.

The maritime conditions will also deteriorate, with rough to very rough seas anticipated on Monday and Tuesday. Strong winds, potentially exceeding 60 km/h, and wave heights surpassing 4 meters are expected along the coast. Residents in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about weather updates.
