Algiers – Algeria’s non-hydrocarbon exports have experienced a significant surge, exceeding $4.3 billion during the first nine months of 2025. This represents a 26 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezig.
The Minister presented these figures during a meeting with the Economic Affairs, Development, Industry, Trade, and Planning Committee of the People’s National Assembly, chaired by Samira Barhoum. Rezig emphasized that the results achieved in non-oil exports are the best compared to the same period in the past two years, reflecting a tangible improvement in the sector’s performance.
The monthly export trend throughout the past year showed a clear upward trajectory. Exports increased from $296 million in January, a 12 percent decrease compared to January 2024, to $452 million in October, a 42 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year.
The presentation highlighted July as the most active month for non-hydrocarbon exports during this period, reaching $490 million. This figure represents a 74 percent increase compared to July 2024, according to the data presented by the Minister.
These results indicate a positive shift in Algeria’s efforts to diversify its economy and reduce its reliance on hydrocarbon revenues. The continued growth in non-oil exports is a key indicator of the success of government policies aimed at promoting local industries and facilitating international trade.
