The Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League has provisionally suspended CR Belouizdad coach, Sayed Ramović. He is summoned to appear before the committee tomorrow, Wednesday, at 13:30 for a hearing.
This decision stems from allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct following CR Belouizdad’s match against JS Kabylie last Friday at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki. The match, part of the 15th round of the national league, concluded with a 1-0 defeat for ‘El CRB’.
Reports indicate that Ramović allegedly directed an inappropriate gesture towards fans expressing their disappointment after the final whistle. This action has reportedly sparked widespread condemnation from supporters and observers alike.
Sources confirm that the Disciplinary Committee will review referee and match official reports, alongside hearing from the coach himself, before reaching a final verdict. Possible sanctions range from suspension to fines, in accordance with established regulations.
In related news, the League announced several other disciplinary measures following the 15th round of matches. CR Belouizdad players Ben Gith, Khasif, Boukerchaoui, and goalkeeper Chaal have each been fined 10 million centimes for protesting referee decisions. Goalkeeping coach Mohamed Oussrir received the same fine.
Furthermore, the CR Belouizdad administration faces a 4 million centime fine for excessive yellow cards received during the match. An additional 10 million centime fine was imposed for inappropriate behavior by club officials and players. A similar fine was issued for failing to have a player accompany the coach at the post-match press conference.
Other clubs, including ES Sétif, USM Alger, MC Oran, MC Alger, JS Kabylie, NA Hussein Dey, O Chlef, Olympique Akbou, and MC Rouissat, also received disciplinary sanctions. Penalties ranged from financial fines and temporary suspensions to warnings regarding protests, the use of pyrotechnics, poor organization, and excessive yellow cards.
This all unfolds as CR Belouizdad prepares for their Algerian Cup Round of 16 match against ASM Oran this Thursday at 19:00 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium. The team will be under pressure to perform despite the recent distractions.
