Prime Minister Attends Quran Recitation Competition Closing Ceremony

Algiers, January 15, 2026 – Prime Minister Sifi Gharib presided over the closing ceremony of the 21st International Competition for the Algeria Prize for Memorization and Recitation of the Holy Quran today, Thursday. The event was held at the Djamaa El Djazair mosque complex.

The Prime Minister attended the ceremony on behalf of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The competition, a prestigious event in the Islamic world, attracts participants from numerous countries, all vying for the coveted Algeria Prize.

The annual competition aims to encourage the memorization and proper recitation of the Holy Quran, promoting a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings and fostering a spirit of unity among Muslims worldwide.
