Air Algérie has bolstered its fleet with the acquisition of its third Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. The new aircraft, christened ‘Yanayer’ (January), arrived at Houari Boumediene International Airport, symbolizing the start of 2026 and reaffirming the national carrier’s commitment to its fleet renewal program.
This delivery follows closely on the heels of the second A330-900neo, which entered service less than two weeks prior. On December 31, 2025, Air Algérie took delivery of its second A330-900neo, registered as 7T-VJE and bearing serial number MSN 2114. The aircraft arrived at Algiers International Airport from Toulouse, France, after a direct technical delivery flight from the manufacturer.
Notably, the new aircraft was swiftly integrated into commercial service. On the same day of its arrival, ‘Yanayer’ operated its inaugural flight as AH4062 on the Algiers-Dubai route. The flight departed at 23:40 and arrived in Dubai at 08:31 on January 1, 2026. The aircraft continued its operations the following day with the return flight AH4063 from Dubai to Algiers.
This rapid deployment underscores Air Algérie’s strategy of immediately utilizing newly acquired aircraft to minimize downtime and maximize investment returns. The immediate operational use of the aircraft also signals the airline’s technical and operational readiness, while reassuring both markets and passengers, particularly on high-demand international routes.
The acquisition of ‘Yanayer’ is part of an ongoing modernization effort that began in November 2025, with the delivery of Air Algérie’s first A330neo aircraft at Houari Boumediene Airport. This continuous fleet renewal is expected to significantly enhance Air Algérie’s operational capabilities and passenger experience.
DZWatch will continue to provide updates on Air Algérie’s fleet expansion and its impact on the airline’s services.
