Algiers, January 15, 2026 – The winners of the prestigious Algeria International Holy Quran Memorization Award have been announced. The 21st edition of the competition, held under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, concluded Sunday evening in Algiers.
The first-place prize was awarded to Abdul Rahman Faisal Mohammed Mohammed Qaid from Yemen. His exceptional recitation and mastery of the Holy Quran earned him the top honor in this highly competitive international event.
The second-place prize was awarded to Abdul Wadud Ben Sidera from Algeria. He demonstrated excellent memorization and recitation skills.
The third-place prize was won by Naji Ben Suleiman from Libya. His participation and achievement were recognized.
The closing ceremony took place at the Djamaa El-Djazaïr, with Prime Minister Sifi Gherib officiating. The event was attended by several members of the government, representatives of national organizations, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria.
The Algeria International Holy Quran Memorization Award is an annual event that aims to encourage the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, and to promote Islamic values and understanding. It attracts participants from across the globe, showcasing the diversity and richness of the Muslim world.
