Constantine: Six People Hospitalized After Gas Poisoning Incident

Constantine, Algeria – Six individuals were hospitalized late yesterday evening following a carbon monoxide poisoning incident in the El Khroub district of Constantine. The incident occurred in the neighborhood known as Unité Voisinale 01.

According to a statement released by the General Directorate of Civil Protection, emergency services responded to a call at approximately 11:35 PM local time. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered six people suffering from the effects of carbon monoxide inhalation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the carbon monoxide leak originated from a water heater within the residence. The victims, all suffering from symptoms including nausea and difficulty breathing, received immediate medical attention at the scene.

All six individuals were subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment and observation. Their current condition is unknown at this time.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, particularly during the winter months when heating appliances are used more frequently. Authorities urge residents to ensure that all gas appliances are properly maintained and that homes are adequately ventilated to prevent the build-up of this odorless and deadly gas.

Further updates will be provided as they become available. This is a developing story.
