Tipaza, Algeria – Local authorities in Tipaza have refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding the suspension of classes due to inclement weather. The reports, which spread rapidly across various online platforms, suggested that schools would be closed on Wednesday.

The Wilaya of Tipaza issued a statement clarifying the situation. According to the statement, the Directorate of Education for the province has confirmed that all schools will remain open and classes will proceed as scheduled. The statement directly addresses the concerns raised by parents and students who had encountered the false information online.

“Based on the information circulating on social media pages regarding the suspension of studies on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Director of Education for the Wilaya of Tipaza informs all parents that studies will continue as normal and according to the established schedules,” the statement read.

Furthermore, officials emphasized that reports specifically mentioning the closure of primary schools due to weather conditions were inaccurate. They reiterated that educational institutions across the region are operating normally, and students are expected to attend classes as usual.

The Wilaya urges all students to attend their respective educational institutions at the designated times. Authorities are advising citizens to rely on official sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading unverified news, especially those causing unnecessary alarm.
