Sidi Moussa, Algeria – The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) convened its ordinary session at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa, Algiers, to review its activities and accomplishments for the year 2025. The federation characterized the year as one marked by significant efforts to improve governance, develop football at all levels, and strengthen organizational and administrative structures.
FAF President Walid Sadi opened the session with a concise presentation summarizing the activities undertaken throughout 2025, the inaugural year of the current Federal Bureau’s mandate (2025–2029), which stemmed from the elections held on February 25, 2025.
On the financial front, the President highlighted a notable improvement in the federation’s resources, attributing it to responsible and meticulous management. This reflects a clear ambition to achieve financial self-sufficiency, according to Sadi.
He added that ongoing considerations regarding reforms to the competition system demonstrate a desire to address observed shortcomings. The aim is to ensure the smooth operation of competitions in the future and to bolster the credibility of governing bodies.
Furthermore, Sadi emphasized that measures have been implemented to strengthen the structure of professional football, improve club governance, and promote safer and more sustainable management practices. These efforts align with the requirements of professionalism and club licensing standards.
Concurrently, special attention has been given to amateur football, recognizing it as the foundation of the sport. Support is being provided to amateur leagues and clubs to enhance competition organization, improve training conditions, and foster balanced development across the nation.
Regarding school football, the Algerian Football Federation continues its collaboration with relevant stakeholders to promote the sport through the organization of the Algerian School Cup 2025 at the primary, intermediate, and secondary levels, as well as participation in continental championships. This demonstrates a practical commitment to this area.
Walid Sadi stressed that the stability of the federation is the result of collective work, which has enabled the effective implementation of various development programs and enhanced the credibility of the organization.
In closing, he called upon all stakeholders in national football, including the sports press, to work together in the service of the greater sporting good, ensuring that Algerian football remains a healthy and thriving activity.
