The Transport Directorate of Algiers Province announced on Sunday the suspension of a public transport bus after a video circulated showing its staff mistreating citizens.
In a statement, the directorate explained that the bus in question was identified and barred from resuming operations. A direct summons was issued to the owner to initiate legal proceedings applicable in such cases.
As part of efforts to improve public transport services, the directorate warned against inappropriate behavior by some public transport workers. It noted that the harshest penalties would be imposed, which could include the permanent revocation of the operating license.
