President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed on Sunday from Bechar province that the inauguration of the Gara Djebilet-Tindouf-Bechar western mining railway line marks the first phase of a structured national project. He stated that it will transform the region’s landscape in the near term and contribute to achieving national economic objectives.
During his speech at the inauguration of this strategic project, the President noted that the western mining railway line is a “first phase of a structured national project that will, God willing, transform the face of the region spanning our Great South in the near future.” He added that it supports national economic goals to exploit the diverse resources at Gara Djebilet, alongside the launch of the zinc and lead mine at Oued Amizour in Bejaia, the Bled El Hadba mine railway project, and the mining pier in Annaba.
On this occasion, the President expressed his gratitude to “all workers, skilled personnel, management staff, and Chinese partners for this historic achievement completed in a record time of 20 months.”
President Tebboune is currently attending celebratory displays in Bechar marking the official launch of the Gara Djebilet-Tindouf-Bechar mining line and the start of operations at the Gara Djebilet mine. The event includes fireworks displays, commemorating a historic milestone in the path of national development.
