A security unit belonging to the Bechar military sector in the Third Military Region seized a quantity of drugs estimated at 280 kg of treated hashish yesterday, Monday, in the Ghnama area of Bechar province.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the operation is a continuation of what was announced on January 27, 2026, in the Ghnama area of Bechar province in the Third Military Region. During that operation, three armed smugglers of Moroccan nationality were eliminated, and another smuggler of the same nationality was arrested, while a firearm, binoculars, and 521 kg of treated hashish were seized.
This brings the total quantity of treated hashish seized to more than 8 quintals. This large quantity of drugs seized in a short period and in the same border area clearly demonstrates the scale of the threat targeting the country and its youth.
