Attaf receives his Portuguese counterpart

Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, received Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, this morning at the ministry’s headquarters.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers held a private meeting, followed by expanded talks involving members of both countries’ delegations.

These discussions reviewed various aspects of cooperation between Algeria and Portugal, noting that the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation last year.

The two parties also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various dimensions in preparation for the sixth Algerian-Portuguese high-level meeting.

Furthermore, the meeting served as an opportunity to exchange views and analyses on international and regional issues of mutual concern, particularly developments in the Palestinian cause, the situation in the Sahel-Sahara region, the Western Sahara issue, and the prospects for the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
