The General Directorate of Taxes has announced that the tax on new car sales, as well as fees for technical inspections and counter-inspections of vehicles and trailers, can now be paid at all tax collection offices nationwide.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate on Tuesday, the new provisions of the 2026 Finance Law require the tax on new car transactions to be paid after the completion of customs procedures and prior to vehicle registration.
This measure is intended to facilitate the payment of these taxes and bring fiscal services closer to the public by providing a streamlined and accessible service across the country.
The fees can be paid through one of two methods: either by receiving a payment receipt for the new car tax and technical inspection, or by using a separate tax stamp for the technical inspection.
Regarding the payment of the tax on new car sales, individuals are required to submit copies of the following documents: the customs declaration (D10) containing the vehicle’s basic data, Form No. 846 issued by customs services concerning the verification of vehicle information, and a national identity card.
