Minister of Health Mohamed Seddik Ait Messaoudan met on Thursday with members of the National Union of Public Health General Practitioners, continuing a series of sessions held with the sector’s social partners.
According to a ministry statement, Minister Ait Messaoudan expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to all health professionals for their continuous efforts and dedication in performing their noble duties in service of the citizen.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of establishing responsible and constructive dialogue with social partners at various levels, in the context of seeking to strengthen the national health system and improve public health care for the benefit of the patient.
In this regard, the Minister listened to the concerns and suggestions of the union members regarding basic laws and improving the working conditions of general practitioners, who are considered the cornerstone of the health system, particularly concerning the improvement of the work environment and ensuring the practice of union activity.
On this matter, the Minister of Health emphasized that issues related to union activity are monitored by the central administration, stressing that no form of restriction is permitted, while fully respecting the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Regarding the basic laws, it was emphasized that various raised imbalances would be taken into account, with special importance given to continuous training, development of professional expertise, and the promotion of the career paths of general practitioners to ensure the valuation of their competencies and motivate them to perform their duties under the best conditions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed the pivotal role played by general practitioners within health institutions, calling for continued work in a spirit of responsibility and integration, alongside various actors, to serve both the health system and the patient.
