Next Monday to be a Paid Holiday

A joint statement from the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, and the General Directorate of the Civil Service and Administrative Reform announced that next Monday, January 12, which coincides with the Amazigh New Year, will be a paid holiday for all employees of public institutions, administrations, bodies, and public and private offices, as well as employees of public and private enterprises across all sectors.

The statement explained that on the occasion of Amenzu n Yennayer, the Amazigh New Year, and in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 63-278 dated July 26, 1963, which includes the list of legal holidays, as amended and supplemented, Monday, January 12, 2026, will be a paid holiday for all employees of public institutions and administrations, public and private bodies and offices, as well as all employees of public and private enterprises in all sectors, regardless of their legal status, including those employed on a daily or hourly basis.

According to the same statement, the aforementioned public institutions, administrations, bodies, offices, and enterprises must take the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of service in departments that operate on a shift system.
