Algeria maintains good relations with various countries

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s continuous desire to remain a force for stability, given the good relations it maintains with neighboring countries. During a periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, broadcast on Saturday evening on national television and radio channels, President Tebboune stated that Algeria “maintains good, friendly relations with many countries, based on mutual benefit.”

The President highlighted the “distinguished relations” connecting Algeria with friendly European nations, such as Italy, Spain, Germany, and others, adding that Algeria also maintains “good relations” with major powers like the United States, Russia, and China.

Regarding Mauritania, the President explained that “our neighborhood with it is brotherly, and it is a country we try to assist as much as possible,” citing examples in the fields of health and education.

Concerning the Sahel countries, the President addressed relations with Niger, stating that he holds “all respect for its current president, Abdourahamane Tiani,” and announced an invitation for him to visit Algeria.

Regarding Mali, the President said that “our history is shared,” while warning against those who come to the country for “arming, enticement, and seizing property.”

On the question of neighboring Libya, the President recalled the shared history of the two countries in fighting colonialism, emphasizing that “whatever affects this country affects Algeria.”

He also noted the role played by the tripartite mechanism of neighboring countries (Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia) and the periodic meetings of the foreign ministers of these countries regarding the situation in Libya.

The President stressed the necessity of “allowing Libyans to decide the future of their country and choose who represents them,” highlighting the importance of legislative elections in this process, as emphasized by the United Nations.

Regarding relations with Egypt, President Tebboune said they span nearly 70 years of integration, recalling the shared history and mutual support between the two countries, and asserting that “whatever affects Egypt affects us, and we reject any aggression against it.”

He also praised the relations between Algeria and Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, highlighting the high level they have reached.

Furthermore, the President pointed out that there is a “small state that tried to interfere in our elections and other matters,” adding: “I hope we do not regret the day we knew it.”
