Champions League Round of 16: Teams that Secured Advancement

With the conclusion of the group stage matches in the prestigious UEFA Champions League, 16 teams have solidified their places in the Round of 16. Additionally, some teams have qualified for the UEFA Europa League, while others, unfortunately, exit the continental competitions.

Several teams secured their positions in the Champions League Round of 16 well before the final rounds, showcasing dominance in their respective groups. On the other hand, some teams had to wait until the penultimate matchday to determine their fate – whether advancing to the Round of 16 or transitioning to the Europa League, or bidding farewell to European competitions altogether.

The qualified teams are as follows:

  • Bayern Munich (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark) from Group 1.
  • Real Madrid (Spain) and Napoli (Italy) from Group 3.
  • Real Sociedad (Spain) and Inter Milan (Italy) from Group 4.
  • Manchester City (England) and RB Leipzig (Germany) from Group 7.
  • Borussia Dortmund (Germany) and Paris Saint-Germain (France) from Group 6.
  • Barcelona (Spain) and Porto (Portugal) from Group 8.
  • Atletico Madrid (Spain) and Lazio (Italy) from Group 5.
  • Arsenal (England) and PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) from Group 2.

Meanwhile, the teams qualifying for the UEFA Europa League are:

  • Galatasaray (Turkey) from Group 1.
  • Lens (France) from Group 2.
  • Sporting Braga (Portugal) from Group 3.
  • Benfica (Portugal) from Group 4.
  • Feyenoord (Netherlands) from Group 5.
  • AC Milan (Italy) from Group 6.
  • Young Boys (Switzerland) from Group 7.
  • Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) from Group 8.

The draw for the Champions League Round of 16 will take place on December 18th at 14:00 Mecca Time at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
