Pharmaceutical Industry: Algeria Strengthens Partnerships with Sweden and Britain

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouidri, received on Tuesday the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Algeria, Anna Block Mazoyer, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Algeria, James Robert Stephen Downer, at the ministry’s headquarters to discuss bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

According to a ministry statement, the meeting served as an opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly regarding the localization of innovative medicines in Algeria and the transfer of expertise and technology.

During the talks, the Minister affirmed the sector’s readiness to support all operators wishing to localize the pharmaceutical industry, especially innovative medicines. He emphasized Algeria’s desire to strengthen cooperation and partnership relations with foreign laboratories that contribute to creating added value and providing the latest technologies in the pharmaceutical field.

The meeting took place in the presence of the General Manager of AstraZeneca Algeria and the Regional Director for Africa and the Maghreb for the same laboratory.
