Necessity of Improving the Quality of Public Service Provided to Citizens

The Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, chaired an evaluation meeting on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters dedicated to monitoring and evaluating the activities of the National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers, according to a statement from the ministry.

The statement explained that this meeting comes in the context of the Minister’s keenness to evaluate the effectiveness of the adopted management mechanisms, measure performance indicators, and follow up on the implementation of recommendations aimed at upgrading public service. This includes simplifying procedures, accelerating file processing, and eliminating overcrowding and queues that burden citizens within the sector’s facilities.

Following the presentation and discussion, the Minister issued a series of directives and instructions, primarily focused on intensifying field visits to various structures and facilities of the Fund to personally observe the progress of public service and the quality of care for the socially insured. Additionally, he called for organizing periodic and regular visits to institutions contracted with the Fund to monitor compliance with health care standards for the insured and their beneficiaries.

Saihi also stressed the need to ensure the rapid and effective processing of benefit files and requests, while ensuring that beneficiaries receive their full rights within the specified deadlines. He emphasized exclusive reliance on interactive digital platforms for receiving requests and addressing concerns, allowing for remote services and the final elimination of paper transactions, alongside rationalizing expenditures and improving management returns without compromising the rights of users or the quality of services provided by the Fund.

In the field of human resources, the Minister emphasized the necessity of investing in the human element through continuous training, particularly distance learning, culminating in certificates that enable workers to develop their skills and progress in their professional careers.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed that improving public service, eliminating queues and waiting rooms, and fully transitioning from traditional management to remote digital services constitutes a fundamental strategic axis within the ministry’s action plans. He confirmed that he is personally and continuously monitoring the implementation of these orientations to ensure a modern, effective public service that is close to the citizen.
