The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, presided over the second edition of the “Education Innovation Challenge” today, Saturday, at the headquarters of the Mutual Guarantee and Surety Fund for Real Estate Promotion in Algiers.
In his speech on the occasion, Saadaoui revealed that the number of participating projects reached 158 from 42 provinces across the country, including 118 innovative projects and ideas and 40 startup projects.
The Minister emphasized that the registration of this number of participants reflects the growing awareness of the importance of innovation in the educational field and the increasing national interest in these qualitative initiatives.
Saadaoui also announced the honoring of 22 projects distributed across different categories, which included innovative ideas, startups, and projects completed by students. He noted that this confirms innovation is a path open to everyone and that encouraging creativity begins from the early stages of schooling and continues through various levels of training.
In this context, the Minister issued strict instructions regarding the necessity of registering, studying, and supporting the submitted works—whether from students or institutions—until they become projects that can be incubated at the institute level.
Furthermore, the Minister of National Education announced the launch of the third edition of the “Education Innovation Challenge” for the year 2027. He explained that it differs from the previous two editions by expanding the circle of participation to include four categories: students, employees of the national education sector, permanent researchers and research professors, and student researchers.
Saadaoui stressed that these diverse categories aim to ensure inclusive participation and motivate all actors in the educational field to propose innovative ideas and actively participate in finding practical solutions that contribute to the advancement of the Algerian school and building a promising future for children.
