The 5th Urban Security Services of Beni Mered, under the Ouled Yaïch district security in Blida, have seized more than 9 quintals of spoiled white meat. According to a police statement, the operation followed information received at the end of this week regarding an illegal slaughterhouse located in a private residence in the center of Beni Mered.
Following the report, security services initiated legal procedures and notified the Directorate of Trade for the administrative district of Ouled Yaïch. Inspections revealed several violations, including a lack of hygiene and proper storage conditions, as well as the unfitness of the meat and offal for human consumption.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 976 kg of white meat, including 12 live turkeys, 179.4 kg of slaughtered turkey meat, and 520 kg of chicken meat and offal. A veterinarian from the Beni Mered municipality, in coordination with municipal services, confirmed that the seized products were unfit for consumption.
The seized items were collected and transported for destruction at the Ben Khelil technical landfill center in Oued El Alleug, in accordance with established procedures. The Public Prosecutor at the Blida Court has been notified, and the owner of the slaughterhouse has been summoned to complete the necessary legal proceedings.
