The National Gendarmerie Command has issued an appeal to citizens regarding a suspect in a fraud case.
According to a statement, the Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Oum El Bouaghi, acting in accordance with Articles 19 and 26 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and based on an authorization from the Public Prosecutor at the Oum El Bouaghi Court, issued an appeal regarding a suspect in a fraud case.
The statement explained that the individual, a resident of the municipality of Ain Beida in the province of Oum El Bouaghi, is suspected of committing the misdemeanor of fraud, as well as the misdemeanor of impersonating a public prosecutor and an investigating judge.
According to preliminary investigation data, the suspect would deceive his victims by claiming he could provide assistance and intervene on their behalf with public and judicial institutions.
In this context, the Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Oum El Bouaghi has called on any person who has been a victim of the acts attributed to the suspect, has dealt with him, or has information as a witness, to come forward to file a complaint or provide testimony that would benefit the investigation.
