Last week, the Algiers security services, represented by the Judicial Police Brigade of the Cheraga administrative district, succeeded in dismantling a criminal network consisting of three individuals involved in organizing and managing illegal sea crossings. A boat equipped with a marine engine was also seized.
According to a statement from the Algiers security services, the case began when the brigade received information regarding a group of individuals attempting to organize illegal sea voyages. Field investigations were subsequently launched, leading to the identification of three individuals with prior criminal records. They were involved in preparing for illegal migration by sea and coordinating with candidates for such unlawful trips.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of the competent regional prosecutor’s office, resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of a boat, a boat engine, 15 life jackets, 180 liters of gasoline, and six barrels filled with water.
Following the completion of legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the competent regional prosecutor’s office in accordance with a criminal procedure file.
